CCTV Security Cameras

The Eyes of Your Business

CCTV systems are an effective and affordable way to protect your business. Security cameras are the eyes of your CCTV security system. Our camera options are suitable for any commercial application, including retail shops, parking lots, hotels, schools, apartment complexes, commercial properties, religious organizations, and any office environment.

Comtex offers a wide range of high standard CCTV cameras to suit every type of security camera installation; dome, bullet, turret (eyeball), PTZ, multi lens, night, weatherproof, vandal-proof, IP, and even analog cameras for those legacy systems. We also offer body temperature and license plate capture cameras that are installed for their specific purpose.

To optimize your system investment, it is essential to utilize the appropriate camera model for the locations you want to monitor. A CCTV specialist will visit your site to determine what you want to see, secure, and record and under what conditions. Then they will assess the requirements for each camera location.

CCTV Camera Considerations

For optimal security and system performance, your CCTV specialist will investigate the following during a site survey at your location:

Camera Location

Will the camera be installed indoors or outdoors?

Light conditions

Will the camera need to record in low-light conditions at night?

Camera Field of View

How wide or narrow an angle of vision is required?

Focal Length

How far away from the cameras are the objects you want to record?

Recording on DVR

Do you want continuous recordings or motion detection recording?

Camera detail

How many pixels are required to see the footage? Read a license plate? Hidden cameras?

Technology

Adding to an analog legacy system? Going Digital or IP?

Housing or Enclosure

Do you need to protect the camera against vandals or weather?

Fixed or Motorized?

Do you want the ability to move your camera around; pan, tilt or zoom?

Standard Cameras

Bullet Camera

Known for their long cylindrical shape, these cameras can be installed indoors or outdoors, on a wall or ceiling. The small and slim casing makes this camera ideal for professional surveillance applications where other cameras may not fit.

Turret Camera

This camera is also known as an “eyeball” or flat faced dome camera. It has a ball and socket design which allows it to rotate freely once the base is mounted. Due to its small size and attractive appearance, turret cameras are more suitable for an office space and places with high decoration standards.

Dome Camera

These cameras are hard to spot and are durable. They are generally ceiling or wall-mounted. The camera assembly is inside an enclosure with a smoked removable dome cover that hides the fixation of the lens. No one truly knows where the camera is looking.

Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ)

These cameras are excellent devices to use when you want to “look around” your surveillance area. They offer the ability to capture footage at multiple angles and perspectives while surveying a wide range of territory. You can pan left or right over a wide area, tilt up and down and zoom in and out on something within sight of the lens. The camera can be set to automatic or manual mode.

Body Temperature Camera

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Comtex has been deploying body temperature cameras in entryways as an added safety prescreening measure. The goal is to quickly screen each visitor to detect a high temperature. Aimed at a single spot on a person’s skin, infrared technology produces a rapid reading. Individuals found to have an elevated temperature would be prohibited from entering the location. It cannot detect other symptoms or confirm COVID-19.

This special camera can also assist in reducing the risk of infection and germs spreading during the recent global public health issue as well by offering fast and accurate body temperature measurements.

License Plate Recognition Camera

A regular security camera cannot clearly capture license plates. You will need a dedicated camera designed for that sole purpose, a license plate capture camera (LPC). This camera will take pictures and video anytime a license plate moves through the frame.

LPC cameras permit users to capture, record, and view license plate numbers. It cannot perform character recognition. Only a license plate recognition camera (LPR) can scan, search, and recognize license plates that can be analyzed against a database or recognized by software.
